A law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Insurance Defense Attorney will represent clients in insurance defense matters, with a focus on construction defect, general liability, and bodily injury cases. The role requires significant litigation and trial experience and the ability to handle complex cases independently.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in insurance defense cases, including construction defect, general liability, and bodily injury claims.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
  • Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of law experience, focusing on insurance defense.
  • Currently licensed to practice law in New Mexico; additional licensure in other states is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling complex defense cases from start to finish.
  • Strong litigation and trial skills, including experience conducting depositions and trials.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
  • Motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethic.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico.
