A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Immigration Attorney to join their team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the Immigration Attorney will manage their own caseload, engage in client interactions, and collaborate with the firm's Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will be proficient in immigration law, with experience in handling a variety of cases and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal representation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Prepare and submit diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategy.
  • Present to and work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal assistants to strategize and work effectively as a team player.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.

 

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a record of moving legal cases forward.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida.
