Job Overview:
A growing law firm in Centennial, CO, is seeking a skilled attorney to join its thriving civil litigation team, specializing in third-party insurance defense. The role is flexible and can be tailored to suit an experienced Junior Associate or a seasoned Senior Trial Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance defense litigation, with the ability to step into a second-chair position for litigated matters. Trial experience is a plus, though not required. The position involves defending individuals and businesses in tort claim lawsuits, where negligence is alleged, from initial investigation through to trial.

Duties:

• Defend clients in third-party insurance defense cases, typically involving negligence claims
• Manage all stages of the litigation process, including investigation, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
• Collaborate with senior attorneys in a supportive, second-chair capacity for more complex cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed
• Communicate directly with clients to provide updates and legal counsel
• Work to develop case strategies and provide recommendations for case resolution
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and legal standards

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
• Familiarity with handling tort claims involving negligence
• Proven ability to manage cases independently, with the support of senior attorneys
• Excellent communication and legal writing skills
• Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced legal setting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado or in the process of becoming licensed in Colorado
