Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an associate-level attorney to join its long-term care and health care teams. The role will focus on providing legal counsel on regulatory and risk-management issues such as licensing, survey and certification, compliance, and contract reviews. Experience in health law is preferred but not required, and candidates with a strong potential for growth in this dynamic field will be provided with support and training. This opportunity includes a hybrid remote work option and provides a chance to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • New Haven, CT

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on critical long-term care and health law areas, including licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and CON issues.
  • Foster and maintain strong, lasting client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives to help expand the firm’s health care practice.
  • Stay updated on evolving health care laws and regulations, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership and insights.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to clients.
  • Meet the firm’s requirement of 1800 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate or litigation law (health care experience preferred).
  • Candidates with less experience but a passion for health care law and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar is required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions is preferred.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be an active member in good standing of the bar.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills for prioritizing workload.
  • Quick learner with the ability to absorb and process new information rapidly.
  • High standards of performance, conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and responsibility.
  • Professional, cooperative, and flexible attitude with the ability to work with diverse personalities at various organizational levels.
  • Military experience is welcome.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:
