Job Overview: Our legal recruiting firm is seeking an Associate Attorney on behalf of a prominent law firm specializing in creditors' rights. This position is based in Florida and requires a motivated attorney to support the firm’s legal team in representing secured creditors and servicers across various jurisdictions. The role involves providing legal counsel, overseeing non-attorney staff, and ensuring compliance with legal processes and standards. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Attorney of Collections and work collaboratively within the firm to drive client success.

Duties:

  • Legal Expertise:

    • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise relevant to creditors' rights across assigned jurisdictions.
    • Stay current with legal updates, researching unfamiliar concepts and applying legal principles effectively.
    • Consult with senior attorneys to ensure consistency in legal approaches and firm policies.
  • Document Review:

    • Review, verify, and ensure the accuracy and legal sufficiency of all applicable documents.
    • Make necessary corrections to meet legal requirements and client expectations.
    • Monitor and prioritize daily attorney tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Team Oversight:

    • Collaborate with and oversee staff to ensure legal and process compliance.
    • Provide guidance and legal oversight to non-attorney staff regarding document preparation and client objectives.
    • Escalate complex legal issues to senior attorneys as needed.
  • Client & File Management:

    • Provide legal advice to staff and clients, ensuring timely and efficient responses to inquiries.
    • Oversee the progress of case files, addressing obstacles that hinder timely completion.
    • Participate in client meetings, workgroups, and discussions to strategize file progression and resolve delays.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar (or relevant jurisdiction) and current "Good Standing" status.

Education:

  • Law Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active membership in the relevant bar association.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Certification of “Good Standing” with the Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal review and compliance.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with both clients and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
