A law firm seeks a skilled Biotechnology Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to join their team in Falls Church, VA. Duties:

• Draft, review, and amend patent applications to ensure compliance with legal standards and scientific accuracy.
• Provide strategic guidance on intellectual property matters, including patentability, infringement risks, and portfolio management.
• Stay informed on developments in intellectual property law and biotechnology to provide the most up-to-date counsel to clients.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent.
• Strong understanding of biotechnology principles, with the ability to apply them to intellectual property matters.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities to convey complex ideas effectively.

Education:

• Doctorate (Ph.D.) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field.

Certifications:

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent.
• (For attorneys) Active enrollment in law school or a Juris Doctor (JD) degree is preferred.

Skills:

• Proficient in conducting patent searches and drafting high-quality patent applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with inventors and clients.
• Familiarity with U.S. patent laws, international filing practices, and intellectual property management.
