A law firm seeks an Attorney Specialist to join its Asset Management and Investment Funds practice. This is a permanent position for lawyers interested in non-partnership track roles. The Attorney Specialist will focus on supporting attorneys in matters related to derivatives transactions and repurchase agreements, primarily for registered investment companies like mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds. Candidates with at least three years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Duties

  • Support the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice with derivatives transactions and repurchase agreements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to manage legal matters for registered investment companies, including mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating investment-related agreements and derivatives transactions.
  • Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance issues affecting asset management and investment fund clients.
  • Lead or participate in project management for large client relationships, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are executed efficiently.
  • Communicate directly with clients, offering advice on complex legal matters and providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Contribute to the practice’s strategic development, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in client service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in asset management, investment funds, or a related legal practice area.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team to meet client needs effectively.
  • Strong academic credentials, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to lead initiatives and coordinate work across teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality client service and building long-term client relationships.
  • Experience with mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment vehicles is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Delaware (or the ability to become licensed in Delaware if relocating).

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.
