A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a General Liability Partner/Of Counsel with 6+ years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance defense and/or transportation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills, with a proven track record of managing complex cases from inception to conclusion. This role involves extensive legal research, drafting substantial legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct file reviews and perform legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
  • Draft and review substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Manage an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and manage document production.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, including managing all aspects of trial preparation.
  • Handle civil cases from beginning to end, including negotiating and mediating settlements.
  • Take and defend depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, attend hearings, and participate in trials.
  • Travel as required for client meetings, court appearances, and other professional obligations.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense and/or transportation.
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admission to practice in the state of Georgia; admission in other states is a plus.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong writing, research, and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to self-manage, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent client interaction skills and telephone manner.
  • Ability to respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of performance and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in the state of Georgia.
  • Admission to practice in other states is a plus.
