A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney with expertise in commercial and complex litigation, particularly focused on wage and hour defense. This role is ideal for a dedicated legal professional ready to take on significant challenges in a collaborative environment, managing various responsibilities related to complex legal matters.

Duties

  • Defend clients against wage and hour claims, particularly in class action lawsuits.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of California and federal wage and hour legislation, including overtime and meal/rest periods regulations.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct depositions and manage motions related to discovery disputes.
  • Develop, implement, and execute detailed discovery plans.
  • Write and edit legal documents, including opposition motions for class certification in wage and hour cases.
  • Maintain professional client interactions, demonstrating competence in legal and strategic considerations.
  • Ensure effective communication and diligent follow-through on all case developments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years of experience in defending wage and hour litigation, with a preference for class action experience.
  • In-depth understanding of California and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Proven track record in managing discovery processes and litigation strategies.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
