Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Trademark Associate with at least two years of experience to join its trademark team. The ideal candidate will have experience in trademark searching, strategy development, enforcement, and both domestic and international trademark prosecution. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, ranging from startups to publicly traded companies, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location:

  • Salt Lake City, UT

Duties:

  • Conduct trademark searches and provide search reviews.
  • Develop global trademark strategies for clients.
  • Manage domestic and international trademark prosecution.
  • Handle trademark enforcement, including demand letters and online marketplace monitoring.
  • Represent clients in TTAB proceedings and UDRP proceedings.
  • Provide advice on trademark portfolio management.
  • Draft legal opinions on trademark issues and provide guidance on trademark law.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide business-oriented solutions for clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in trademark law.
  • Experience in trademark searching, strategy development, and prosecution.
  • Experience in trademark enforcement, including online enforcement and TTAB/UDRP proceedings.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in relevant jurisdiction(s) or eligibility for admission.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction(s) or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Expertise in trademark law and intellectual property.
  • Strong legal writing, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with online enforcement and monitoring.
  • Ability to manage international trademark portfolios.
  • Strong client management and communication skills.
