Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking qualified Attorneys for their Workers' Compensation (WC) and Liability Insurance Defense practice groups. These hands-on positions will involve litigation and billable hours in both Herndon and Richmond, Virginia offices. Attorneys in these roles will work closely with clients, opposing counsel, and various levels of management. Location:

  • Richmond, VA

Duties:

  • Handle litigation and defense work related to Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense cases.
  • Manage billable hours and meet the firm's productivity requirements.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with clients, opposing counsel, and management.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategy on Workers' Compensation and Liability matters.
  • Collaborate with team members on case strategies, research, and documentation.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Prepare and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar (D.C. Bar is a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation or Liability Insurance Defense preferred.
  • Experience with billing hours and managing case load.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to maintain client relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia Bar (D.C. Bar is a plus).

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and trial experience.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance Defense laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle high-volume cases and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
