A law firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation and will be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 150 cases. This role involves working closely with legal assistants, writing demands, negotiating claims, responding to discovery, taking depositions, and making court appearances. The candidate must demonstrate strong research and writing skills, possess effective supervisory and leadership abilities, and maintain impeccable integrity in handling confidential matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 150 Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Oversee and collaborate with a team of legal assistants.
  • Write and file legal demands and responses.
  • Negotiate claims with opposing parties and insurance companies.
  • Respond to discovery requests and conduct thorough research.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Represent clients in court appearances and hearings.
  • Ensure all case documents and communications adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar of the state of Georgia and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation law.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong research and writing skills with a high level of academic achievement.
  • Effective supervisory and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all matters.

Certifications

  • Georgia Bar license is required.
