A law firm seeks a highly motivated Non-Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Raleigh, NC. This unique role focuses on professional license defense and administrative law, with a primary emphasis on client acquisition and retention. The ideal candidate will be passionate about client interaction, with a strong ability to build rapport and convert consultations into retained cases. Duties:

  • Conduct initial consultations ("Discovery Calls") with prospective clients to assess their legal needs and align them with appropriate solutions.
  • Build and maintain trust with potential clients to convert consultations into retained cases.
  • Explain the firm's services, payment structures, and retainer agreements clearly to prospective clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial arrangements, ensuring timely collection of payments in accordance with the firm’s policies.
  • Assist in preparing for trials and hearings related to professional licensing matters, working closely with litigation attorneys.
  • Research legal issues pertinent to clients’ cases and collaborate with the team on case strategies.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Help develop legal theories and strategies for clients’ cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and answering inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to explore new client engagement opportunities and referral strategies.
  • Maintain and manage a calendar and task management system to meet deadlines and manage caseload.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and an active law license in North Carolina are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience in professional licensing or administrative law matters is preferred but not required.
  • Sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer software and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, particularly Google Drive and law firm management software, is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Some work in Superior Court through appeals and professional license-related matters is expected.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active North Carolina state law license.
