Job Overview

A respected law firm in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its team. The role focuses on representing condominium and homeowner associations in a variety of litigation matters. This position offers a flexible work environment, with the potential for a hybrid schedule following an initial in-office training period.

Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in courts and administrative hearings throughout the Chicagoland area
  • Engage in general civil litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings, briefs, and conducting discovery and depositions
  • Participate in trials, mediation, arbitration, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) trainings
  • Manage multiple client relationships, ensuring timely and effective communication
  • Perform legal research and follow up on case tasks to meet deadlines
  • Stay informed about relevant changes to Illinois statutes and case law

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil litigation
  • Knowledge of the Illinois Condominium Property Act is a plus
  • Experience in mediation and arbitration is preferred
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
