Job Overview
A respected and dynamic law firm based in downtown Los Angeles is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of litigation experience. The firm handles complex and high-stakes cases in both State and Federal courts, and the ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent research and writing skills, and experience in managing and taking depositions. Duties

  • Manage and handle cases from start to finish, including depositions, discovery, pre-trial motions, trial preparation, and appeals.
  • Take and defend depositions (minimum of ten depositions required).
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings and trials.
  • Assist in case strategy and provide guidance to junior staff when necessary.
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives, including marketing and business development.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload.
  • Experience with taking depositions and participating in trials.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
