Job Overview
A law firm seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Attorney to join its team in a hybrid capacity from one of its New York offices. This position offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with experience in general liability or professional liability litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research skills, familiarity with federal and state civil procedure rules, and the ability to handle cases from inception through trial preparation. This role provides exposure to a broad range of legal matters in a collaborative and flexible work environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in litigation matters, managing cases from initiation through discovery and trial preparation.
• Attend court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
• Review and analyze discovery responses, depositions, and case materials to prepare litigation updates.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in dispute resolution efforts with opposing counsel.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, offering detailed case analysis and status updates.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in Connecticut (CT Bar required).
• Experience handling civil litigation matters, with a focus on general liability and/or professional liability preferred.
• Strong drafting skills with experience in discovery, depositions, and motion arguments.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Connecticut Bar License.

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research tools, including Lexis.
• Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
