Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a Junior Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic team. This role involves supporting senior attorneys in tax-related litigation cases, performing legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal forums. Duties:

• Assist senior attorneys in preparing for court proceedings, depositions, and hearings.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Draft, review, and file complaints, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other key stakeholders.
• Attend court proceedings and hearings, providing assistance and gaining hands-on experience.
• Maintain well-organized case files and legal documentation.
• Participate in team and client meetings, offering input on case strategies.
• Present persuasive arguments during trials, hearings, and settlement conferences.
• Provide clients with timely updates on case progress and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Stay updated on legal developments, regulations, and changes in relevant laws.
• Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Michigan or pending admission.
• Previous experience in litigation through internships or clerkships (preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Admission to the Federal Court of Claims is advantageous.
• Proficiency in legal research tools, Office 365, and case management software.
• Solid understanding of federal and state tax laws, with an interest in litigation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active or pending membership in the State Bar of Michigan.
• Admission to the Federal Court of Claims (preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage with clients and colleagues professionally.
• High level of comfort with technology, including legal research tools and office software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
