Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm based in New York City is seeking experienced litigation attorneys for its growing team. This is an opportunity to work on diverse and challenging legal cases in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The position involves representing clients in various litigation matters, including professional liability, labor and employment, medical malpractice, and construction defects. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle complex litigation from initiation to resolution.

Duties:

• Represent clients throughout all stages of litigation, including case initiation, discovery, and expert testimony.
• Attend court appearances, depositions, hearings, and case management conferences.
• Conduct thorough legal research and investigations related to case issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery materials, prepare case summaries, and update litigation reports.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Provide legal analysis, status reports, and strategic advice to clients throughout the litigation.

Requirements:

• Active Bar admission in New York.
• Proven experience in NY litigation, with a strong background in general liability and/or labor and employment law preferred.
• Strong command of both federal and state civil procedure rules.
• Demonstrated ability to manage discovery, lead depositions, and argue motions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active and good-standing member of the New York Bar.

Certifications:

• NY State Bar admission is required.

Skills:

• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with legal research tools, particularly LexisNexis.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
