Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join the Global Transportation Finance team at a prestigious law firm with offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex international and domestic transactions, focusing on the financing, leasing, acquisition, and restructuring of aviation, rail, maritime, and other general equipment assets. The role allows for substantial client contact, professional development, and participation in business development initiatives.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on transactions related to the financing, leasing, acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of transportation assets.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts and other transactional documents related to aviation, rail, maritime, and general equipment financing.
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and shareholders on high-value and complex financing deals.
  • Engage in business development activities and client-facing opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to clients, including banks, leasing companies, airlines, private equity firms, and investors, in both domestic and international markets.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of transactional experience at a law firm.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: securitization, leveraged finance, secured lending, capital markets, private equity, project finance, structured finance, or real estate finance.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and client communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction (or in the process of obtaining admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in transactional law, particularly in the financing and leasing sectors.
  • Strong research, analytical, and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with legal teams and clients.
  • Proven ability to handle complex transactions and meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $235,000 - $280,000 annual base salary.
