A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience with real estate financing, lender representation, co-lender/intercreditor agreements, and/or commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS). The candidate must possess excellent academic credentials and demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in various real estate financing transactions, including negotiating, structuring, and drafting loan agreements.
  • Provide counsel to lenders on complex financial transactions, including co-lender and intercreditor agreements.
  • Advise on matters related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), including structuring and compliance.
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as mortgages, deeds, loan agreements, security agreements, and related documentation.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on real estate transactions, including reviewing titles, surveys, and resolving title defects.
  • Assist clients in structuring real estate finance deals and provide strategic advice for optimal transaction outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely closing of real estate transactions.
  • Stay informed of relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide informed counsel.
  • Manage real estate deals from inception to completion, coordinating with various parties to ensure all legal requirements are met.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and dispute resolutions, ensuring the client’s interests are protected.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in real estate financing, lender representation, co-lender/intercreditor agreements, and CMBS transactions.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for admission to the North Carolina Bar.
  • Academic Credentials: Excellent academic performance is required.

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar or eligible for waiver.

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills, particularly in real estate finance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to clearly convey legal advice and solutions.
  • Ability to manage complex real estate transactions with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and a client-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with North Carolina real estate and property laws is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate-related litigation or environmental law is an advantage.

This is a satellite office of a large Atlanta firm with a diverse practice that includes intellectual property, corporate, litigation, and other types of law.
