Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of litigation experience to join their Casualty Litigation Department in Philadelphia. This role provides an opportunity to handle diverse litigation cases, particularly focusing on casualty liability matters. The ideal candidate will have strong legal advocacy skills and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently. A Pennsylvania law license is required, and a New Jersey license is a plus.

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of litigation matters, with a focus on casualty liability cases.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare briefs and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members on complex legal strategies.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests.
  • Attend mediations and arbitrations to advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Provide high-quality legal counsel and develop effective case strategies.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in casualty liability matters.
  • Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • New Jersey license is a plus but not required.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • New Jersey license preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong litigation skills, including discovery and motion practice.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with courtroom procedures, depositions, and mediations.
