Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Timonium, MD is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their team.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in civil litigation matters, with a preference for candidates with District Court courtroom experience.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings and trials.
• Conduct depositions and witness interviews.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
• Communicate with clients to provide case updates and advise on legal matters.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on case strategy and preparation.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of trial experience.
• District Court courtroom experience is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
• Admission to the Maryland State Bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Maryland State Bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver.
