Job Overview: A respected law firm in Chicago is seeking an experienced Asset Protection Attorney to join its team on an ad hoc basis. This role is integral to advising clients on how to shield their assets, minimize risks, and create effective legal strategies for wealth protection. The position offers a unique opportunity for attorneys with expertise in asset protection, estate planning, and related legal fields.

Duties:

• Develop and execute tailored asset protection strategies for clients
• Provide expert legal advice on safeguarding assets from creditors, lawsuits, and other risks
• Draft and review various legal documents, including trusts, wills, and corporate frameworks
• Conduct in-depth legal research to stay current with evolving laws and regulations
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific financial and legal needs
• Represent clients in asset protection-related legal matters
• Advise clients on additional areas such as tax planning, estate planning, and business succession

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active Bar membership in Illinois
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset protection, estate planning, or a related field
• Comprehensive understanding of asset protection laws, trusts, and corporate structures
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• High professionalism and adherence to ethical standards
• Ability to work independently on ad hoc legal projects

Education:

• JD from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar
