Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established insurance defense law firm in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a full-time Civil Litigation Attorney with at least 3 years of experience in general insurance defense trial/litigation. The ideal candidate will have trial experience and a demonstrated ability to think strategically in high-pressure situations. This position offers the opportunity to handle cases from inception to closure, including appearing in court and conducting depositions and trials.

Location:

• Saint Petersburg, FL

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and writing on various litigation matters.
• Draft motions, orders, pleadings, and correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Analyze and respond to discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Assist in trial preparation and attend mediations.
• Manage cases from inception to close, providing regular status updates to clients.
• Review and negotiate legal documents related to litigation.
• Analyze federal and state laws and regulations applicable to each case.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Ability to draft and review legal documents effectively.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
• Florida Bar License (Required).
• Must be able to work in St. Petersburg, FL.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
