A law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and substantial experience in real estate finance law, including loan origination and structured transactions. The role involves managing transactions from inception through closing, and requires excellent writing and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Oversee loan origination work and asset management.
  • Handle workout scenarios and secondary market repurchase facility work.
  • Lead transactions on behalf of lenders from inception through closing and post-closing.
  • Develop and implement exit strategies for complex transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and contracts.
  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients on real estate finance matters.
  • Coordinate with other attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments affecting real estate finance.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate finance, with a focus on large law firm practice.
  • Proven track record in managing complex real estate finance transactions.
  • Experience with mezzanine loans, preferred equity, asset management, and workouts.
  • Experience in secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in Texas.
