Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle defense cases related to construction litigation, focusing on Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Manage and resolve issues involving contractual indemnification between parties.
  • Conducted and defended depositions, particularly in labor law cases.
  • Report progress and updates to clients and insurance carriers.
  • Appear in court for conferences, motions, and hearings.
  • Ensure compliance with discovery requests and legal procedures.
  • Coordinate medical examinations as part of case preparation.
  • Prepare and file legal motions and documents.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
  • Admission to the New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania Bars is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in construction litigation defense, particularly in Labor Law cases.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6).
  • Strong background in contractual indemnification issues.
  • Proven experience in taking and defending depositions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State; additional New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania certifications are a plus.
