Duties

  • Advocate for clients, ensuring they receive quality care and favorable outcomes
  • Build trust and rapport with clients, demonstrating empathy and understanding
  • Take ownership of cases, advancing them toward resolution in a timely and thorough manner
  • Draft and respond to discovery, and assist in trial and mediation preparations
  • Provide regular updates to clients on case status and developments
  • Communicate with insurance companies and opposing counsel regarding claims, demands, offers, and litigation
  • Evaluate claims and lawsuits to determine key elements and value for advancing client interests
  • Develop negotiation skills to effectively advocate on behalf of clients

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of experience, with a preference for personal injury and litigation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with an above-average competency in legal advocacy
  • Ability to work independently with a commitment to advancing cases and client interests

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license with the South Carolina State Bar and completion of all Rule 403 requirements
  • Additional bar licenses in Georgia, North Carolina, or Florida are a plus

Skills

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and case management abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-centered approach
  • Ability to speak and/or write Spanish is a plus
