Job Overview: A law firm in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking a skilled General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle a caseload involving general liability insurance matters, from legal research and drafting documents to representing clients in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolutions.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various legal issues related to general liability insurance matters.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Maintain billable hours as required by the firm’s standards.
  • Manage client relationships effectively, ensuring clear communication and responsiveness.
  • Assist in all phases of litigation, including motion practice, conferences, mediations, and trials.
  • Participate actively in discovery processes, particularly in conducting and defending depositions.
  • Second-chair litigation experience at the trial level is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar Association in GA.
  • 2-3 years of experience in General Liability Insurance matters.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law office or similar legal environment; clerkships in Superior Court will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with the Georgia Civil Practice Act and relevant matter-handling experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in discovery processes, including depositions and motion practice.
  • Familiarity with second-chair litigation at the trial level.
