Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation and insurance coverage team in San Diego, CA. Duties:

• Manage an individual caseload with guidance from senior attorneys or partners

• Conduct legal research and draft briefs, discovery responses, and coverage opinions

• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, motion arguments, depositions, and trial preparation

• Serve as second chair in trials or lead trials based on experience level

• Engage in client development and communication to maintain strong relationships

• Participate in firm-sponsored professional development and mentoring programs

Requirements:

• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills

• Excellent verbal communication and advocacy abilities

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and case strategy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California and good standing

• Valid driver’s license (as required for client meetings and court appearances)

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing

• Ability to draft persuasive legal documents

• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and insurance coverage matters

• Competency in MS Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint
