Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Midlevel Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Associate to join its growing team in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in representing creditors and be capable of handling various aspects of commercial loans, collections, lender liability, loan workouts, and commercial bankruptcy. Experience with litigation, bankruptcy, receivership, and insolvency proceedings is required. This position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, splitting time between remote and office-based work.

Location:

  • Seattle, WA

Duties:

  • Represent creditors in state and federal court proceedings related to commercial loans, collections, and lender liability matters.
  • Handle loan workouts and commercial bankruptcy cases.
  • Participate in litigation, bankruptcy, receivership, and other insolvency proceedings.
  • Provide practical and creative solutions in distressed financial situations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases, ensuring effective and efficient case handling.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, providing regular updates on case status and developments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two to four years of experience in representing creditors.
  • Experience in state and federal court proceedings involving commercial loans and bankruptcy.
  • Strong academic credentials and analytical ability.
  • Membership in the Washington State Bar Association (required).
  • Licensure in the Oregon State Bar and/or California State Bar is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association (required).
  • Licensure in Oregon and/or California state bars is a plus.

  • Expertise in Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights: Experience handling commercial loan collections, lender liability, loan workouts, and bankruptcy cases.
