Job Overview

A Federal Hill-based law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to establish and lead its new immigration law department. This in-office role offers a competitive base salary, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to grow the practice. The position is ideal for an attorney with strong expertise in immigration law and a passion for serving a diverse clientele. Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred.

Duties

  • Establish and lead the immigration law department.
  • Handle all aspects of immigration cases, including:
    • Family-based petitions.
    • Adjustment of status and naturalization.
    • Removal defense.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
  • Draft and file immigration-related petitions and applications.
  • Represent clients in immigration court and before administrative agencies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in immigration law.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. immigration policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage a growing caseload and develop a new department.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and valid Bar license in any U.S. state or jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and develop new processes.
  • Multilingual proficiency is a plus, with Spanish fluency preferred.
