Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Immigration Attorney to join their team in Fresno, CA. As an Immigration Attorney, you will play a key role in managing cases, representing clients, and collaborating with a team of legal professionals. Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and develop strategic solutions for clients on immigration-related matters
• Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage a caseload of diverse immigration matters, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Conduct client intakes and provide legal guidance to individuals detained in immigration facilities
• Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and other USCIS filings
• Review and modify immigration applications, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Work collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes
• Meet with prospective clients to assess their needs and provide strategic guidance on their immigration matters
• Develop case strategies, preparing clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases, including defenses and appeals
• Ensure clear communication with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and legal strategies

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience in immigration law
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance cases efficiently
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing independent responsibilities
• Demonstrated experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR proceedings, detained clients, citizenship matters, and other USCIS applications
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (candidates awaiting admission will also be considered)

• Proficiency with case management software is an asset
