Immigration Attorney (Hybrid)

Job Overview

A prominent law firm in New York City, NY, seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. The firm specializes in immigration law, providing legal representation and advocacy for a diverse clientele.

Duties

  • Represent clients in Master Calendar and Individual hearings before Immigration Courts in New York and other jurisdictions.
  • Attend Adjustment of Status, Stokes, I-751, and Naturalization interviews.
  • Draft and submit motions, evidence, joint motions, and correspondence to the Immigration Court and the Office of the Chief Counsel.
  • Prepare and file appeals and appellate briefs with the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Handle and litigate Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) petitions before New York Family Courts.
  • Supervise the work of assigned experienced paralegals.
  • Conduct visits to clients in immigration or criminal detention facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proficiency in Spanish (preferred).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
