Job Location: Sacramento, CA

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm, located in downtown Sacramento, is seeking a skilled Health Care Regulatory and Transactional Attorney to join their growing team. The firm specializes in representing managed care health plans and their clients are governed by multiple California state agencies, including the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC), Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and the California Department of Insurance (CDI). This role provides an opportunity to work with a diverse range of health law matters, including regulatory compliance, health care contracts, and policy analysis.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and advice on health care regulatory matters, specifically related to managed care health plans.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate health care contracts, including payor/provider and vendor agreements.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, audits, and compliance issues with state regulatory bodies.
  • Research and analyze healthcare laws, regulations, and policies to ensure client compliance.
  • Represent clients in discussions with regulatory agencies such as DMHC, DHCS, and CDI.
  • Support clients with operational and transactional legal matters in the healthcare sector.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, providing excellent service and legal counsel.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health care regulatory law or a strong interest in the managed care regulatory field.
  • Experience with health care contracting, including vendor and payor/provider agreements.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in health law and policy.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of health care regulations, including DMHC, DHCS, and CDI regulations.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience with regulatory filings and audits.
