Job Overview: A law firm in Edison, NJ, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plaintiff’s personal injury law, possess excellent negotiation skills, and demonstrate proficiency in case management and trial preparation.

Duties:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide informed advice.
  • Develop strategies to achieve favorable and cost-effective case resolutions.
  • Review discovery documents and determine optimal courses of action for each client.
  • Conduct and oversee complete depositions and oral hearings of witnesses and experts.
  • Prepare all necessary documents for case filings, managing a caseload of approximately 150 cases.
  • Collaborate closely with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive trial case briefs.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences as required by cases.
  • Supervise and mentor two paralegals to ensure efficient case management and support.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and handle property damage claims.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and case management systems like Smart Advocate.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in trials, applying extensive trial experience to advocate for clients effectively.
  • Uphold confidentiality and exhibit professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Proven ability to negotiate settlements and resolve property damage claims.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and case management systems.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player with collaborative attributes and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with trials and courtroom proceedings.
  • Tenacity, drive, and compassion in advocating for clients.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New Jersey.
