A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing Community Association Law practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience to gain valuable exposure to client interactions, litigation, and Board of Director meetings. Duties:

  • Client Interaction:

    • Engage with clients and provide legal advice related to community association matters.
    • Attend Board of Director meetings and assist in guiding decision-making processes.
  • Litigation Support:

    • Handle litigation matters involving community associations, including preparation of pleadings, motions, and discovery.
    • Represent clients in court and assist in trial preparation.
  • Legal Research & Documentation:

    • Conduct legal research on matters related to community association law and provide strategic recommendations.
    • Draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Communication & Advocacy:

    • Develop and maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
    • Advocate on behalf of clients during meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
  • Collaboration & Learning:

    • Work closely with senior attorneys and staff to support ongoing cases and ensure case progress.
    • Take advantage of learning opportunities to deepen your knowledge of community association law.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in litigation or community association law is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proactive, self-starter with a strong sense of organization and attention to detail.
  • Work Ethic:
    • A willingness to engage in litigation and client-facing responsibilities.
    • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.

  • Legal Research & Writing: Strong proficiency in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Client Relations: Excellent ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Litigation: Experience or willingness to participate in litigation processes and trial preparation.
