Duties:

  • Conduct thorough workplace investigations in educational settings, ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation to educational institutions on a variety of education law matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including investigative reports, memoranda, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop case strategies and solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting education law.

 

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, preferably in education law, public sector law, or labor/employment.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Title IX experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public sector or education law is advantageous.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
