A law firm in Warwick is seeking an experienced Attorney to represent secured creditors, banks, and mortgage servicers in all stages of the default process. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in the default servicing industry and be admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, with a preference for admission to all federal districts.

 

Duties:

  • Represent secured creditors, banks, and mortgage servicers in default processes.
  • Manage and maintain default files in accordance with firm compliance requirements.
  • Review and sign documents in the default process, including motions, notices, affidavits, and pleadings.
  • Review and compile necessary documents for the default process.
  • Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes, and similar materials.
  • Handle a national portfolio of loans for banks and mortgage servicers.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, trials, settlement conferences, and other appearances as necessary.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency in case management, client, and investor systems.
  • Handle client inquiries promptly and competently via systems, phone, and email.
  • Utilize the firm’s case management system and reporting to meet deadlines for various pleadings.
  • Maximize client billing opportunities while maintaining compliance and meeting investor timeline expectations.
  • Prioritize and manage a high volume of files efficiently.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico, and preferably all federal districts.
  • Licenses to practice law in other states is a plus.
  • Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac approval is a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico.
  • Additional State Bar admissions are advantageous.

 

Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and managerial skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Excellent proofreading, spelling, and grammar skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to handle client inquiries effectively.
  • Competence in using case management systems.
