A law firm seeks a Project Development & Finance Associate to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile transactions involving project development, mergers and acquisitions, and financing in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a focus on renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas and a commitment to providing exceptional client service in a collaborative and dynamic setting.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on project development and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt finance, and renewable energy deals.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors, developers, financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements, contracts, and other transaction-related documents.
  • Facilitate due diligence processes and risk assessments for energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Support clients in navigating regulatory, commercial, and operational challenges.
  • Manage transaction processes, ensuring timely and successful execution.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in project development, finance, or related corporate law practices.
  • Hands-on experience with energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable energy transactions.
  • Proven ability to handle complex transactions and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, client-focused approach.

Education

  • J.D. degree from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in Washington, D.C., or eligibility to waive in.

Skills

  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating transaction documents with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and research skills for identifying legal and regulatory risks.
