Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its civil defense litigation team in Dallas, Texas. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on complex cases involving product liability, premises liability, construction, and transportation matters. The position involves collaboration, strategic litigation, and regular travel within the state.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of actively litigated claims from inception to resolution.
• Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and updates for clients.
• Attend and represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and related proceedings.
• Evaluate case merits, develop legal strategies, and advise clients on potential outcomes.
• Conduct thorough investigations of case facts and legal issues.
• Prepare and argue motions in court.
• Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses and corporate representatives for trial.
• Engage in trial preparation, including strategic planning, discovery management, and document review.

Requirements:

• Strong ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic approach to case management.
• Exceptional writing, research, and oral communication capabilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Texas and good standing with the State Bar.

• Expertise in defense litigation, particularly insurance-related matters.
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case analysis.
• Ability to travel statewide as required by case needs.
• Proficiency in using legal technology and case management systems.
