Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join its Corporate & Finance team in one of its Ohio locations (Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati). The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in bankruptcy law, demonstrating the ability to manage complex bankruptcy cases for both creditors and debtors. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse matters including litigation, negotiations, and financial restructuring.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including litigating and negotiating matters related to reorganization plans and out-of-court restructuring transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients to devise strategic solutions and navigate complex bankruptcy cases.
  • Provide counsel to creditors and debtors, ensuring the effective management of legal and financial challenges.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key bankruptcy-related documents, including plans of reorganization and recapitalization agreements.
  • Handle all aspects of bankruptcy litigation, from court appearances to settlement discussions.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and dedicated support.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in bankruptcy law, including both creditor and debtor-side representation.
  • Proven experience with complex bankruptcy cases and financial restructuring transactions.
  • Strong litigation skills, with experience presenting in court and negotiating settlements.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal and financial issues, with a focus on providing actionable solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio.

Skills:
