Colorado Springs office of our client seeks intellectual property / government contracts attorney with 5+ years of direct IP legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house. The candidate will provide guidance with regard to the patentability of invention disclosures, supervise outside counsel, prepare and negotiate intellectual property agreements, conduct right-to-use studies, prepare infringement opinions, provide effective guidance with regard to IP risks, conduct intellectual property due diligence to support acquisitions and divestitures, provide guidance for IP litigation, conduct intellectual property law training, and successfully interact with IP law groups throughout the world. Will also prepare, prosecute, and file patent applications, complete patent searches and IP clearances, manage client patent portfolios, provide IP training services, provide subject matter expertise for business transactions, and litigate intellectual property disputes. Provide legal support to clients not only on patent issues, but also in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and privacy rights. Experience with prosecution, licensing and litigation matters is required. Should be a registered US patent attorney. Portable book of business or the ability and willingness to build a sustained practice is needed.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Must be self-motivated and highly disciplined with excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be able to multi-task and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering excellent client service and results. Demonstrated ability to work with others of varying backgrounds is needed. Occasional local travel is required.
