A growing Workers' Compensation Defense firm in Southern California is seeking an Attorney to join its team in Pasadena, CA. Location:

  • Pasadena, CA

Duties:

  • Handle Workers' Compensation defense cases, representing employers and insurance carriers
  • Manage a caseload of claims from start to finish
  • Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Attend hearings and proceedings before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff to strategize and manage cases
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases
  • Participate in case evaluations, settlements, and negotiations
  • Keep up to date with changes in Workers' Compensation law and procedures

Requirements:

  • 2-10 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense (entry-level candidates with a strong interest in defense work will also be considered)
  • Active California Bar Number (required)
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort with hybrid work environment (remote and in-office)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (CA Bar Number required)

Skills:

  • Familiarity with Workers' Compensation law and procedures (preferred)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
