Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Plano, TX is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to manage and oversee creditor's rights litigation practice. The attorney will handle a range of litigation tasks for both secured and unsecured creditors while working in a collaborative environment. The role involves full case management from pretrial to appeals, with responsibilities extending to strategic planning and client communication.

Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of 50-75 active litigation cases, focusing on pretrial practice, trial practice, and appellate practice.
  • Serve as lead counsel during various litigation stages, including pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, trial attendance, post-trial, and appeals.
  • Oversee case strategy, risk assessment, client communication, document management, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with operational staff, providing guidance and approval for procedural changes.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as required for professional development and firm needs.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel in contested litigation, preferably representing financial institutions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from a recognized and accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Admission to practice before all Texas federal district courts is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Experience handling contested default cases and banking litigation specific to the jurisdiction.
