Job Overview: A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, seeks a dedicated Immigration Attorney to handle diverse immigration matters and represent clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a substantial caseload efficiently.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Make necessary adjustments to immigration applications/packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits in clients' cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of Immigration Law experience.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in Florida.

Skills:

  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Excellent strategic planning and legal analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
