A well-established law firm in Stockton, CA, is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their team as defense counsel for a major national retailer. The successful candidate will primarily handle premises liability litigation cases throughout the Central Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in gaining experience in high-profile defense work, with training and mentoring available for qualified applicants.

Duties:

• Defend a major national retailer in premises liability litigation.
• Represent clients in various stages of litigation, including motions and depositions.
• Develop and implement effective defense strategies in complex cases.
• Communicate with clients and provide updates on case progress.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys for guidance and mentoring.
• Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Attend hearings and trials as required.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed by the California State Bar.
• Experience with law and motion practice and depositions is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• A valid California Bar license is required.

Skills:

• Litigation experience, preferably in premises liability.
• Strong research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.
• Mentoring or coaching experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
