Job Overview: An established Family Law firm located in the Greater Orlando area is seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in family law litigation and will work closely with a Managing Attorney to represent clients in various family law matters. The firm is looking for an attorney with a strong ability to negotiate settlements while also being ready to aggressively represent clients in court when necessary.

Location:

  • Orlando, FL

Duties:

  • Draft legal documents including motions and pleadings related to dissolution of marriage, paternity, and other family law matters
  • Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories, and reviewing documents
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies
  • Represent clients in court as necessary, including hearings and motions
  • Maintain a professional rapport with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court
  • Conduct initial consultations with potential clients
  • Provide timely updates and advice to clients regarding the status of their cases
  • Ensure strict adherence to deadlines and case timelines

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida
  • Family law experience (litigation experience preferred) (1 year minimum required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Managing Attorney while handling individual responsibilities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with clients and colleagues

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida

Skills:

  • Family law experience (minimum 1 year required)
  • Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery documents
  • Negotiation and settlement skills
  • Legal research and analysis
  • Courtroom experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
