A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Cranford, New Jersey. This position focuses on litigation with an emphasis on default, real estate, eviction, and bankruptcy cases. The firm offers a collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Duties

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, notices, motions, and court orders.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on statutes, case law, legal codes, and procedural rules.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in the case management system to ensure data integrity.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and attend client site visits when necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive legal representation.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the firm's litigation practice.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in litigation, with expertise in default, real estate, eviction, and/or bankruptcy cases involving lenders and mortgage servicers in New York.
  • Familiarity with case management systems, such as CaseAware, is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of legal principles, court procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active New York State Bar membership.
