Duties

  • Represent personal injury clients through all stages of litigation.
  • Manage personal injury case files from initial intake to resolution.
  • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, pleadings, discovery responses, demand letters, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct client meetings and communicate with clients regularly to provide updates and address inquiries.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Engage with expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and supporting witnesses.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Review liens and expenses before disbursing settlements.
  • Meet litigation and filing deadlines and maintain thorough case documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of personal injury litigation experience.
  • Trial experience in personal injury, wrongful death, or medical malpractice is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, tort law, and civil litigation.
  • Effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant legal software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Virginia.
