Location:

Duties:

  • Represent corporate and insurer clients in workers’ compensation claims.
  • Evaluate claims and advise clients on legal strategies and optimal resolutions.
  • Handle litigation proceedings, including hearings, trials, depositions, and oral arguments.
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and submit required client reports, motions, and legal briefs.
  • Communicate effectively with client representatives, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • One or more years of workers’ compensation defense experience preferred (candidates with additional experience will be considered).
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and case analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
  • Negotiation and litigation experience.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a legal team.
